Our school won the first prize in the national “Destination Imagination” innovative thinking activity

From March 8th to 11th, 2024, the 2023-2024 DI Innovation Thinking Activity National Finals were held at the Ningbo International Convention and Exhibition Center in Zhejiang Province. After preliminary selection by various provinces and cities across the country, hundreds of excellent participating teams stood on the stage of the final evaluation in this national competition. Our school’s team, "Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove," won the first prize and special award, the "Torch Award".

DI (Destination Imaging) is an international competition that stimulates the innovation of young students. It aims to cultivate young students' comprehensive abilities in science, technology, engineering, art, and other fields through teamwork and creatively solving various DI challenge tasks. It also trains their innovative practical abilities, problem-solving skills, and team spirit.

After the Beijing Innovative Thinking Competition in 2023, the DI team of our school is ready to set sail and embark on a new journey to prepare for the National competition. In this competition, the students chose the difficult service learning project "Challenge PO Secret Environment Adventure", which required students to participate in public service and actively deal with real life community problems. The students made full use of their spare time to work together, designing and producing props, discussing the plot, writing scripts, and practicing instant challenge tasks. The students gained valuable knowledge in joint exploration and practice, gained firm friendship in overcoming difficulties together, and gained endless joy in completing projects together.

On the stage of DI, the students presented a number of wonderful creative projects: a fantasy story road-map that realizes background changes through program control; The "giant organ Magic Book" cleverly designed with the combination of mechanical principles, circuit design, graphic elements and other multidisciplinary knowledge; and the drama with the exquisite clothing of a very visual impact and reflection of the characters, integrating the research results of the project investigation into the tumultuous plots. The wonderful performance of the students won the warm applause of the audience and the judges, and finally won the first prize against the powerful opponents, and won "Torch Award" of the PO group projects. After the competition, students and friends from all over the country exchanged learning, switched badges, and forged friendships.

In this creative carnival, the students' comprehensive qualities have been fully improved, such as the integration of multidisciplinary knowledge and skills, the stimulation of innovative thinking, the ability to manipulate the scene, the ability to respond to emergencies, the ability to perform, etc. The students fully demonstrated their talents, and furtherly stimulated the enthusiasm for science and innovation. Not only they harvested the joy of success, but also enjoyed this happy creative journey. In the future, the DI team will continue to work hard in the new journey and strive for new glory!
